CPR Training

HLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation (formerly HLTAID001)

This course provides the skills and knowledge required to perform CPR in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) guidelines.  CPR skills should be refreshed ever 12 months.

First Aid Certification

Childcare First Aid

HLTAID012 Provide first aid in an education or care setting (formerly HLTAID004)

This course is designed for staff employed in the childcare and education sector as well as parents and caregivers of children. 


This course includes CPR, First Aid and Asthma & Anaphylaxis training.

Low Voltage Rescue (LVR)

UETDRRF004 Perform rescue from a live LV panel

This course includes HLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation.

In this course you will learn how to perform rescue procedures from live low voltage (LV) apparatus.

It is designed for those working in the electrical industries and will help you understand your safety obligations and requirements. 


This course will take 2.5 hours and the majority of this course is completed face to face with some pre-reading required.  We estimate the pre-reading will take you approximately 30 minutes.

Advanced First Aid

HLTAID014 Provide Advanced First Aid

This Nationally Recognised Course will give you the  skills and knowledge required to provide an advanced first aid response, including management of the incident and other first aiders, until the arrival of medical professionals.  It is ideal for those working in high risk environments, first aid officers for large groups of people and those working in remote or hard to access work sites.

This course is predominately completed face to face over 2 days from 9.30am to 5.30pm with an online pre-course module.

HLTAID011 Provide First Aid
HLTAID014 Provide Advanced First Aid

Parent & Caregivers First Aid

HLTAID011 Provide First Aid

This 5 hour face to face course is ideal for Parents & Caregivers.  All participants will receive a Nationally Recognised First Aid Certificate HLTAID011 Provide First Aid.  In addition to the base requirements for this course this course will cover more detail around first aid care for babies and children including:

* CPR for babies and children

* How to handle choking

* Signs & symptoms of a sick baby/child and when to seek medical help

* Seizures and febrile convulsions

* Asthma & Anaphylaxis

* Many more important first aid topics

​

Each participant will receive a First Aid Kit and a Course Manual.  Light refreshments will be provided.  There will be a 20 minute break for lunch. A fridge and microwave is available in the room or a range of food outlets and coffee shops are available nearby.

​

This is a practical and informative course delivered by our most experienced first aid trainers.  This course is a must for new parents.

Construction Workers

General Construction Induction Training

CPCWHS1001 - Prepare to work safely in the construction industry
This course is approved by Work Safe Qld and is Nationally Recognised.

This course is the mandatory work health and safety training required for all workers to complete prior to undertaking construction work in Queensland.

This training will give you a basic knowledge of:
work health and safety laws
common site hazards and
how to control the associated risks.

​

This course is delivered face to face at our classroom in Bracken Ridge, all requirements will be completed during the course.  The duration is 5 hours. 

​

Upon successful completion of this course you will receive your White Card, at the end of the course and you will be emailed a copy of your Nationally Recognised Statement of Attainment.

​

Three forms if identification must be presented at the course including one form of Photo ID.

Advanced Resuscitation

HLTAID015 - Provide Advanced Resuscitation and Oxygen Therapy

This Nationally Recognised course is designed for people who may be required to use specialised equipment to provide resuscitation in a range of complex emergency situations. The course enables students to obtain advanced skills in automated external defibrillation, mechanical resuscitation and oxygen delivery and understand the fundamental principles that can be applied to save and preserve life in accordance with the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) Guidelines. 


Pre-course e-learning plus face-to-face practical training is required to complete the course requirements.  We estimate that the online pre-course training will take up to 2 hours and the face to face course may take up to 4 hours.

Upon successful completion of the course students will attain a Statement of Attainment with:

HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation

HLTAID015 Provide Advanced Resuscitation and Oxygen Therapy

Remote First Aid

HLTAID013 - Provide First Aid in remote or isolated site

This course is ideal for weekend warriors, hikers, mountain bikers, 4x4 enthusiasts, campers, boating enthusiasts & those working in remote or isolated sites. This course will give you the advanced skills to manage a first aid incident if you are more than an hour away from medical services.

Course Requirements & Information:

Please note these are the general requirements for each course.  Please see booking information revelent to your class choice for any additional requirements.

​

To successfully complete our first aid courses, you need to:

Have the physical ability to meet the assessment requirements of performing at least 2 minutes of uninterrupted cardiopulmonary resuscitation on an adult manikin placed on the floor and an infant manikin placed on a firm surface. In addition to this you will need to complete various other simulated first aid scenarios.

Have sound literacy and numeracy skills to read and interpret first aid signs and instructions

Have writing skills to be able to complete an accurate written incident report.

Oral skills at a level that show you could communicate effectively with emergency services

For those aged under 18 years of age parental permission is required

You will need access to a computer and internet to complete the online part of the course

In order to issue a Nationally Recognised Statement of Attainment we will require enrolment information including your USI number. Photo ID is required.


If you are unsure if you meet the above requirements or you have concerns please contact us to discuss your requirements and the support processes or contacts we have to assist you.​

If you are unsure whether you meet the language requirements please contact us and we can provide you with a complimentary LLN Test.


​​We ask that all students be in good health when attending a course and if you are suffering from cold or flu symptoms you will not be able to attend the course. We are happy to reschedule you to another date.

​

​The classroom opens 10 minutes prior to the course start time and all courses start on time and we run our courses as time efficiently as possible, for this reason if you arrive more than 5 minutes late to your class you will not be able to attend and you may forfeit your course.

​

We do not provide refunds if you simply change your mind. You may reschedule your course to another date, please provide 24 hour notice by emailing info@aokfirstaidtraining.com.au or your course fee may be forfeited.

​

In order for our team to provide you with our Same Day Certificate Service you will need to have successfully completed all course requirements at the end of your face to face course.  This includes:

* Course fee is paid in full

* All enrolment information has been provided and your USI number can be validated with the USI office.

* You have provided Photo Id

* All course e-learning has been completed and you have achieved a Competent Result.

* You have attended the face to face course requirements and your Assessor has deemed you Competent.  The Assessor will advise your competency status at the completion of the course.

If all requirements are not completed at the end of the course, your Assessor will advise you of Completion timeframes.  Certificates will be emailed to you within 31 days of you successfully completing all requirements.
